What Riesling have you liked or can recommend this year in the following price range. new release or old release or both

<$15 - well it was on release 2002 Richmond Grove Watervale riesling, a real treat at the price
<$25 - 2008 Kate Hill nice drop
>$25 - 2002 Leo Buring Leonay, lovely toasty lime flavours, quite viscous, 2007 Grosset springvale, not bad, very refreshing

I don't quite understand the question. Are you talking about current prices? Are you talking about wines that were consumed this year? If so then the following were the top Aussie rieslings for me this year.

There are so many beautiful rieslings for under $25.

For a real cheapie the 08 Jacob's Creek riesling is a great drop. Can often pick it up for about $7 a bottle.

At about $20 the 2009 Poonawatta Eden Riesling is a great drop. Its too young to be drinking it now probably, so wait a year or two before starting to tuck in.

Above $25 the Seppelt Drumborg Riesling is a superb riesling that has plenty more years in it

The massive development for me this year has been my initial fascination and then addiction to German rieslings. In the space of one year I have tucked away close to 10 cases of the 2007 vintage (my daughter's birth year - great get out of jail card for all 05 & 07 purchases recently). It started with the Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Kabinett, took root with the Emrich-Schonleber Lenz Feinherb and exploded with the Schafer-Frohlich Monzinger Halenberg Spatlese. I love the low alcohol of the kabinetts with the refreshing acid structure. If you haven't tried them yet, do yourself a massive favour and get a case of the stuff in to try and cellar. A lot of these wines will be drinking out around 2020-2030.

Two recent ones I thought good were:

2009 O'leary Walker Polish Hill. Great stuff. Interesting.
2008 Delatite. Must be close to WWOTY. Awesome intensity and structure. Built through the palate to a fabulous finish.

2009 Pewsey Vale Riesling is a beauty.

For the Great Southern region in WA (comparable to Clare and Eden Valleys) 2008 was a better year than 2007, and the Xabregas, Plantagenet and Castle Rock rieslings were lovely.
Capel Vale Whispering Hill is sensational, as is Ferngrove Cossack.

Yeah, haven't had a riesling for a while so have been thinking about it, just waiting for the JC range to be discounted again. Won't be too disappointed if the 09's what's on offer as I've seen some praise for the 09 riesling vintage. If I can gather the wherewithal for a mixed case from Tahbilk, a couple of bottles of their riesling are likely to be included.

Some rieslings that I enjoyed in 2009 were:

East Arm 1998/1999
Knappstein HP 2001
Capel Vale 2003
Leo Buring Clare 2005

and just starting to get it back together - Orlando Steingarten 2003

Agreed. Better than a lot of rieslings twice its price. My wife loves it.

Just waiting on my order of Auburn Riesling from Central Otago in New Zealand.

Carrying a bit of RS but should be interesting.

2008 Mesh Riesling - A very under rated and over looked wine in my opinion.
