Hi all,
Since Ric didnt post, I'll do the followup. Allowed me to start the ball rolling.
Octavius 1999 - Oaky, oaky & oaky even with my high tolerance for 2by4. Somehow the end-palate is missing, ending slightly tart. A cruiser weight vintage.
Among all the Barossa Icon 1999, I would rate this last in this order. Meschach(TOP) followed closely by RWT, E&E B.P & Command(both excellent with nothing to sepate btwn)
Alexander Bridge 101 Shiraz 2001 - I thought this is better than their Cabenet(slightly on the elegant side) eventhough MR is famed for it's Cab. Terrific balance & finese, an all-rounder which is faultless just like Ric described - technically perfect without being boring.
Very much perfered the 101 Shiraz over the Oakobvious.
Cheers,
MC
