TN: Wendouree Shiraz 1991

Post by markg »

A deep dark satiny purple color, with pronounced chocolate/coffee and savoury aromas and a hint of mint. A wonderful chocolate, turkish coffee and blackberry palate with loads of puckering tannins - loads of structure. This has quite a bit more time to serve in the bottle.
Cheers

Thanks for the note mark...if only I had some in the cellar!!

I had a 71' about 2 years ago that tasted like it was only 5 years old.

I wish I had some too, applied for the mailing list - see how I go I suppose. This and other Wendouree's were generously provided by another forumite at a dinner recently !

Should things go as planned, I'll be conducting a Shiraz/shiraz blends tasting in Europe later on this year. One of the highlights will be the 1990 Wendouree Shiraz, I wonder if anyone had the experience of tasting this wine recently?
Cheers,
Attila
