Looks great on first impression but structure hasn't really changed too much :) (no complaints!) Well done...

My thanks.

Structure will be changing.

In order to move the forum successfully, it must be moved

as is.

Hence, it is identical, except for the colour scheme.

I will, however, once all is working smoothly, be changing the structure of it.

Just need to

make sure all is working smoothly

and

work through the best structure for it ongoing!

Well congratualations to all involved. Looks like everything is here and I was able to log in so, so far, so good. Very pleased to see everything here.

And here's a new feature. If someone posts while you're posting, their post comes up before you submit so you can review what you've written in light of the other post. Nice feature.

Very funky!

Does the new format give you the opportunity to change the color scheme to suit the seasons? Perhaps a nice crisp yellowy green Riesling tone heading into spring?

Just noticed my time zone setting seemed to have changed, might be worth checking yours so the date/time shows accurately. Via the new User Control Panel option, Board Preferences.

Brian, I changed my time zone back to EST, thanks.

Again, many thanks to Rooview for his efforts in enabling the migration of the previous forum format content and to Gavin for updating the forum to enhance our online experience.

Hopefully the change brings with it more effective security against phishers/spammers - I noticed a while ago that a Google (Bot) was online but am not sure what the "(Bot)" signified.

Nice to be here!

Cheers

We think and hope so.

Anyone newly registering now has to answer a wine related question (of my choice) to gain registration, hard for bots to do that. Then they have to get my approval to join!

The power!!!

It seems to be working!

Google bot

Is indexing the site, its helpful, helps auswine's google rankings (which are pretty darn good!)

Great work all.

Some new functions are a little  . "report a post" and "friends and foes" should be interesting...

Anyways,

Congratulations and cheers,

Monghead.

Hi Gavin,

In the old forum, colour of the discussion topics would change if you have opened them up. This was a good feature which enabled us to spot the new entries right away. is it possible to have it in the new forum ?

Cheers

Arnie

Arnie

They still do, at least for me.

Small square next to the topic name

goes red/orange if the topic is new to you? (bit harder to see I suppose with the new colour scheme?)

Well, it does for me?

I am logged in. Some of the titles have the square box , may be a dozen rest of them don't. Does not change if I read them or not ?!?!

Still getting used to the new look of the place - all up it's kind of different and yet kind of the same (if that makes sense). :?

A quick thanks to Gavin, Adrian & co for saving all the previous stuff and making a fairly smooth transition to the new place. 8)

Cheers,
Ian

Ps. You might want to fix up the link at the top left Gavin that's supposed to go to your store - at the moment it returns to the forum homepage.

Just a quick thought, and I am not too clear in my own mind where to suggest this goes, but it seems like recommendations of cellar doors is a topic that comes up quite frequently. Would it be possible to have subforum with stickies for each major region that people could contribute to so as to create a 'one-stop-shop' for those kinds of recommendations?
