Hi all, haven't posted for a long while but opened this last night and was pleasantly surprised. Decanted for an hour.

Crimson colour, plenty of berries on the nose also with a hint of plum(?). A lot of fruit when first sipped but opened up a bit and the finish lengthened over time. Was still a little young and should cellar for a few years before reaching its peak.

Has anyone else tried this? The '98 didn't get crash hot reviews but I couldn't really fault this wine so wondered why it got poor ratings. Well structured, good finish, and years left in it.... Not bad in my books.

Cheers

Hi Matt,

Tasted on the eve of 2001. I love this wine for its balance, refinement and velvet texture. As good as their "Eagle" fr the same year (I don't see wat's the fuss all about paying 3.5 more...)

Cheers,
MC
