I'm contemplating purchasing a few bottles of the 1994 Chalambar shiraz, and was just wondering if anyone was familiar with how this wine is travelling? At its peak? In decline? Still improving!!!???
Cheers,
Andrew

What price ? Anyway, I'd say it could be getting a little tired by now, but if they're cheap, then try one...

It was a lovely wine, over a decently long drinking window, however, now in decline unless you're lucky enough to find some bottles with exceptional provenance

Just curious, Andrew. Where are you finding 1994 Chalambar?

Thanks for the replies. Was looking at purchasing the Chalambar from Leura Cellars in the Blue mountains, but instead went with a 1991 Tahbilk Shiraz, and a 1996 Leasingham Bin 56 Cab Malbec. Here's hoping that the Tahbilk has held up!

There will be no problem with the '91 Tahbilk. The Tahbilk website (link below) has it as 'Improving' with a 20+ year rating before it hits its drinking window. Mind you, they still have 1981 Cab Sav as 'Improving' too.
