Does anyone know of any good PocketPC software for capturing and organising tasting notes?

There seem to be a few out there with access to mountains of 3rd party notes, but I'm just after something that I can record my own in.

Recommendations or other geeky suggestions of how to manage tasting notes on a PDA will be most welcome.

I looked into this years ago for my palm but didn't come up with much. My ideal would be a light version of the RB cellar DB so I could put in notes on the run againt my actual cellar.

I did download Pocket Palate but it's not that good really and doesn't really have the fields I need. Sometimes I just use the memo function but more often than not I just use a little notebook I bought and write everything in there. It doesn't have batteries and I can slip other things in there like menus or buying sheets and the complete freedom of a white page works quite well for me for notes, doodles, wine stains and drawings.

Sometimes technology isn't the answer.

Agree Kris! Not that RB is retired, that should become his next project.

Tyson Stelzer is always seen tapping away like a madman/weirdo on his little organiser things. His notes go in there...maybe email him.

Thanks for the tips! - I'll stalk him on twitter

I must admit that I'm torn between the PDA and the notebook - the notebook's a bit easier sometimes, and you can't record wine stains on a PDA successfully without occasional use of the microwave and a re-boot. I just never seem to have the notbook in the right place when I need it..

I'll keep trying.

I use livescribe with a black bound notebooks - it makes me look simultaneously old school and new school - which is VERY important.

If your PDA is wifi or even better a mobile phone connection, just point the web browser to something like Cellar Tracker or similar website.

I am in the GW camp. I use a small black blank page Moleskin notebook. I hate the way IT solutions get avirus or crash leaving you with nothing but aggro.

GW is actually using a high-tech solution, the Livescribe pen and special paper captures the writing in electronic format as well as physical format.
