Just collected my order. There were 8 or so Australia Post cages full of Wine ready for dispatch.
24B Shiraz now all gone, missed out on it myself.
Happy drinking, looking forward to trying the Shiraz Malbec

As always seems the case - Red crayon, return the form ASAP and never get what I ordered.
No hit yet on the CC

$75 for Shiraz and Shiraz 24B.
Flippers will be excited. Probably feeling like George Soros with this level of return .
That’s such good value for a cult wine! I love that they’ve kept their pricing reasonable

Copped a whack on the cc for about 90% of what I ordered . As long as cab Malbec is in there I’m not too fussed

Someone was quick - already a bottle of the 24B listed in the upcoming Oddbins auction with a price guide of $300-$350. Happy to receive the 3 I ordered at a much more respectable price!
Shame people are only in it for a quick buck.

Feels like one of the slower allocations this year. Still waiting for order to get processed! Anyone else waiting?

I really wanted to get at least 2 bottles of 24B Shiraz

Wendouree Shiraz 24b 2022 received 96pts, a long drinking window and a smart review from The Wine Front.

I called winery earlier to confirm that no 24B Shiraz for my order. Ms Brady advised there will be higher volume for 2023 vintage next year. Fingers crossed I will get an allocation of 24B by then.

Interesting, there may not necessarily be a 2023 24b, unless of course its quietly resting in the barrel.
There may be something brand new planned for release next year...who knows. Exciting times indeed.
Cheers Craig

$300 a bottle at East End cellars. Regular Shiraz originally sold out at $260 but I’m guessing some flippers have been found and it’s restocked.

So what would be the ball park figure that EEC are buying them for...punters would certainly want to double, triple their money surely?
Suspect the lone bottle at Oddbins will set the bar...who is going to blink first...$350-400 perhaps
Cheers Craig

I’ve never flipped but looking at the prices you’d guess the dishonourable flippers would have doubled the money.
Does anyone have the Robert Parker scores?

Only $1734 (inclusive of freight charges), I am not sure if I even get a standard Shiraz this time round. :/

I got everything I ordered bar the 24b Shiraz which is of course disappointing. I only order as Wendouree is my wife's favourite winery.
She's given me a spray for not getting the order form back quicker, but I really don't think it matters when you send the form back....
There really is no rhyme or reason over who gets what. I have only been ordering since the 2010 Vintage but another forumite on here has been ordering for many years longer than me and he didn't get even what I did. Yet you read stories of people who have only been ordering for a few years and get everything they order.
Ahh, the dreaded red crayon I guess.....

So I got (in my preference order):
6 x Shiraz
6 x Shiraz Mataro
6 x Cabernet
6 x Cabernet Malbec
Besides the 24B, these are actually the top 5 of my preference (Shiraz Malbec would be my 5th favourite). I reckon Ms Brady had figured out my preference through our conversation.

So not much went in tonight's auction...a couple of 2021 Shiraz at $160. No one blinked, so the 24b is safe for now. Don't think any of the 22s attracted a bid...the flippers will have to wait a bit longer
Cheers Craig

Was 24b up for auction?
I wish folks would just enjoy these wines. Flipping them for small profits and credit card points- surely easier ways to make a $?

Yes listed with a vendor bid of $299, and price guide $350. Didn't get any attention. Will probably be held over to next month's auction.

No real margin in flipping Wendouree or most cult wines . I get the ‘off load’ model freeing some $$$ for something else you have a greater passion for / aka palate shift .

24 b got 96 points from GW on Winefront and on the forum it seemed to me it was conservative. Mike Benny indicated a higher level of points deserved- any idea as the scores should be up on Halliday’s. And what of Robert Parker? Any ideas there as reviews up. James Suckling will be along soon!
I remember in the early 90’s Wendouree received great press form the likes of Halliday, Hooke and Suckling but their wasn’t today’s orgy of points.
I think I left a 96 and 98 Wendouree Cabernet Malbec standing up before I went away for two weeks of work. I’ll crack them over the weekend.
