Have you tried the 09 yet?
I've heard very good things about the vintage, and the 09 Kilikanoon Mort's Block looked pretty good last week.
Cheers,
Ian

Ha - how's that for timing? I just poured a glass, and I'm impressed. First impressions are that it's the nicest of the ten or so 2009 rieslings I've tasted so far. It's a very nice wine.
I'm going to get another six pack - I can't believe they are giving away two magnums per dozen!

I need to buy some Barossa shiraz; happy to cellar for a while. Was thinking Peter Lehman, Futures or Eight Songs. Recent vintages of both (2004, 5 & 6) seem to be reasonably highly regarded. Any thoughts?

Staff sale! Can't resist a bargain.
Some 05 Seppelt Giggle Juice, because it makes me happy.
06 Heemskerk Chardy - try now and see if I try the rest now or save some for a bit
08 St Hubbies Stag Pinot for a quaffer and some Wolf Blass Gold label PNC because it has bubbles in it and it's Spring.
And a couple of 07 Penfolds Cellar Reserve Tempranillo when I nicked into CD last week, 'cause it's dead sexy.

2004 Eight Songs is a stunner! Elegant yet powerful. No overripe notes or acid poking out a la some Barossa dreadnoughts (drinking a 2008 Pirathon tonight
)
cheers

I've now also picked up:
- a mixed dozen of Unison (6 x '07 Syrah; 4 x '06 Selection & 2 x '98 Selection -- thanks Sue for the tip in your blog that they're selling some cellar stock -- didn't start buying till '00 so haven't previously tried the '98)
- 2 x '07 Villa Maria Reserve Syra
- 2 x '07 Janasse Chaupin (CDP)
- 3 x '08 Felton Road Riesling (interesting to line this up recently against the '08 Craggy Range Glasnevin Riesling -- FR noticeably more precise to my taste).
Cheers
Peter

Some more Chapel Hill chard and shiraz cab to complete a 6pk including a couple of bottles of Ingoldby chard 08 and another Musician 07 to replace the one I had a glass of last night. Some more of the latter will accompany the boneless sirloin(still defrosting) with mushrooms and salad for my late dinner. The Muso seemed nicely regional last night.

Is there a bandwagon? I don't buy the GT so tell us more about the 07. Halliday rated the 06 95pts. I've enjoyed the O'Leary Walker shiraz Clare/Mc V in the past. Is this the same label? Never tasted a Woodlands Margaret but the label has a very good rep.

Sure did , it's a superb wine - fresh, juicy dark fruits with a hint of white pepper as it evolved in the glass - one of my wines of the year so far(new releases). Have some of the Margaret as well very austere at first but did evolve nicely after 6 hours - will leave this for a least 5 years before trying another. Daz I think he is a nephew of the Clare Valley O'Leary
