And I omitted the "reserve" from my Church Road note -- haven't tried cellaring the standard label. I'm getting toward the end of a dozen of the '98 (& 6 of the '98 CS), which have been toward the best of the various '98 HB reds I cellared.

yeah i still got some 98 cr res cab sav too. about $25 a bottle i got them for. good stuff. church rd reserve rocks at the mo - 05 cab sav, 06 merlot cs, 07 syrah, 07 chardonnay.

such good wines! penfolds who?? why tf would you buy penfolds when you can get stuff like this for $30!!

At a dinner so may be a little sketchy-
Louis Cristal 1997 still young, sublime, poised. great champagne from a difficult vintage.
cullen Chardonnay 2002 past it, about 1 year too late.
Wendouree Cab Malbec 1996 my first every Wendouree, i now understand what the fuss is all about and why people say their wines are ageless. beautifull wine, seamless and complex, has depth and character, a wine we all pondered over for an hour or so (table full of wine tragics).
inniskillin iced riesling 2002 cracking good wine, soft and delicous, showing some development whilst retaining that lovely grape sweetness.
Trimbach reserve pinot gris Selection Grain De Nobles 1985 [b] an odd bottle, for a boytris wine there was no boytris character, all the fruit seemed to stripped from the wine including development colour (it was straw yellow in colour). there was still acid there but just no flavour, almost soave like. very odd, we are still looking into it.

Lets just say I have never had a wine I've hated, but there are some I would rather not taste again....
