Sorry to drag this thread up (I am doing some research), but do others heat their cellars during colder periods? I don't think that will be a problem her in Brisbane - just curious whether people do this.

No, Michael, I don't, but only because I don't need to here in Perth. Even on the odd occasion Perth approaches zero C, the cellar remains in double figures.

Hi all
I have read through this and for my cellar/storeroom (3000L x 1650W x 2600H) I am considering going for a standard inverter split-system 2.5KW. The two models I am considering are a Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-GE25VA or a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries SRK10-YJ-S. They are both about $850.
I went for straight aircon for three reasons:
95% of my wines are under screwcaps
it is much cheaper
inverter system means that the temperature will fluctuate less (though still more than optimal)
Any comments on my reasoning or the two brands I have narrowed it down to?

The mitsubishi heavy industries. Recently installed inverter systems for the unit and most of the people in recommended MHI or Daikin - Girl I work with her husband does refrigeration as well and also recommended MHI over Mitsubishi.
I have installed 3 splits - cool and heat 2 x Model SRK25ZJX-S (bedrooms 5x5m each) and 1 x SRK71ZEA–S1 (the rest of the unit about 90m2) have had no problems and work very efficiently
