I believe HFW paid about $16 for the Nefertari, I assume about the same for the Nefertiti as well, so at $20 less commission, they came out about square (before all the other storage costs etc). It was the lot that was offered at retail that was overpriced.
Fair enough then, although the poor souls didn't quite make the big bucks that they would have hoped. At least covering costs on some of the wines must ease the pain a bit.

Just sat down & watched Die Hard 4.0 with a bottle of Taittinger NV. I don't imagine John McClane would approve, but without doubt the best NV I've had in a while. Beautiful lemon meringue with a touch of brioche, complemented the movie perfectly.

Great movie!
Best of the series.
I like Taittinger too but I'll watch it again with a rose sparkling on the weekend.
