The only purchase of significance for me has been 7 bottles of Carrick Pinot Noir 2005. 7 so I could have one straightaway and put a six pack in the cellar.
Added another couple bottles Awatea 05 and Grant Burge Miamba 04 to the cellar too as I was impressed with both. Otherwise just a mixed case of "everyday drinking wine".[/b]

seanwines,
I've always been interested in the RSW but never bought. What did you like about it that made you buy four of them.

Great wine, deep black colour, big upfront mcvale fruit nose that took 5 hours to open a little, the oak is there but not overpowering, very firm structure and tannin, wonderfully in balance already, thought this would easily go 5+ years, one of the best 04 Mcvale's i tasted and at less than $45.. might have to get some more!
cheers Simmo

My only recent purchases are Houghtons MR Cabernet 2000 for $28. I just noticed it in a local shop and bought on impulse. Upon getting home the reviews seem quite good.
Only other recent is my first and only bottle of Wendouree. The Cab Malbec 2001 which I picked up at on-line auction.
I really want a mixed dozen of the Majella from Auswine but I'm trying to restrict my spending.

If you think that is good you should try the Kays 04 Hillside at nearly $10 a bottle less.

yes Dr-307
Always a surprise packet every year!
A Quote from the Wirra Wirra Site-
“RSW is a unique wine which is not made to a certain consistent or uniform style year after year, but rather is aimed at reflecting the very best that the vineyards in this region have to offer in a given vintageâ€Â.
I tried to taste the 04 at CD shortly after its release. They had limited stocks then and had none for tasting. I do try to buy a few of the RSW each year, although I only picked up 2 of the 03.
The 02 RSW was one of the best wines I have tasted in recent times-

I keep on hearing voices. One says, "wine". The other, "you're here for a good time not a long time". Who am I to deny the mysterious voices of my own inner universe. So onwards and upwards for some boozy retail therapy, but with a credit card paid off and those voices egging me on, let's just say, a couple of weeks sleeping on the couch. Damn those voices!!
04 Hillcrest Pinot Noir
04 Kooyong Mornington Estate Pinot Noir
97 Pol Roger
05 Deisen Cab-Shiraz
98 Goundrey Reserve Cabernet
98 Leo Buring Museum Release Riesling
03 Bremerton B.O.V. Cab-Shiraz
04 Majella Malleea
05 Valminor Albarino
04 The Islander "Old Rowley" Grenache
05 Kalleske Pirathon Shiraz
And just because it's not going to be made anymore, some Wayne Thomas Petit Verdot.
Cheer's, Wine Bloke.

Not wine I'm afraid, but a bottle of The Macallan Fine Oak 12 years old. I am a newbie to single malt whiskies and am seeking a mentor.
Looking forward to the education
