A good example of an aged Coonawarra Cab Sauv but no better than a good vintage of Wynns Black Label.

Agree completely. It looked great on release and has done 5/8th of sweet fanny adams since. Bloody expensive for the quality.

2002 Willow Bridge Estate Winemakers Reserve Shiraz

This wine was a real surprise package. Lovely rasberries, plums and a sweet flavour with minimal tannins. Definately recommend...

Chandon Pinot Shiraz

Smooth liquorice flavours, dark berry aromas, hints of spice. A very nice smooth sparkling compared to some I have had recently

Alexandra Bridge Cabernet Merlot 2001

An excellent cab merlot, with all the boxes ticked.
Some fruit on the nose, a brilliant smokey bouquet.
Quite long in the mouth with the characteristic blackcurrant winning out over sagey tobacco. A medium tannin giving a good structure.

No. A Seguin Moreau hogshead (300L) - French Oak is around $1300. Barriques similar. Depends on the cooper etc.
Increased costs are no doubt for lower production run. Probably more difficult to make (longer staves etc) etc. It seems to go up exponentially with size though.
