Hi Craig,

You will live to regret doing that work on my site for me. :P Drinking terrific aged wine can be a costly, but most worthwhile endevour.

Glad you enjoyed the Aberfeldy.

I've had a totally opposite experience with the Chalambar and Jester. All of the 2003 Chalambars have been very disappointing and I've given up on it. All of the 2004 Jesters have been most approachable and enjoyable.

Maybe just a matter of taste? Have been in Europe drinking a lot of Rhones, CNdeP etc last few years. Don't get me wrong, lot's of them are 'orrid (thin and green in bad/avg years).

On the Aussie side some tho' of the wines are coming across as bit overblown to my tastebuds compared to Guigal etc. Am looking for a sense of balance, contentment in my wines, to go with the fruit.

While I have invested in a lot of 2004 SA Shiraz "to get back into practise" it's possible I may enjoy cooler climate Shiraz these days? Will have to investigate this theory a bit more :).

Come on Max, you have had 18 hours.

Hahaha.

You'll have to wait longer Graham. Three days in 35 degree Central Otago heat working the vineyards has taken its toll on the post-holiday body of yours truly. Twelve hours sleep each night with 9-10 hour days doesn't leave much time for anything else. Stay tuned for the report this Sunday. Only two proper tasting notes  , but plenty of impressions.

Are you going to visit over the summer and let me introduce you to central otago pinot???

Hush your mouth!!!! I only just got out of trouble with the Red Bigots. Had to say heaps of Hail Mary's and then even more 707's and am now trying to keep a low profile.

Might have to think on coming though. Surely they have some FULL bodied reds there.
