Only two wines this weekend as the palate sustained long lasting damage at the Austral/Exeter in Friday after handing in my thesis 8) (Coopers Sparkling really hits back the following morning)

Henschke Julius Riesling 2003

Good wine that had a strong balance of lime acidity and fruit and showing a little toasty/kero like aged flavours. Good wine but after drinking a Drumborg 2004 and 2002 Steingarten during the week, didnt quite measure up.

Barratt The Bonython Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills, 2002

Last tried the wine about 12 months ago when it was showing strawberry and sweet red fruits but little complexity. Now showing sour cheery, leafy characters, a little mushroom and a great supple mouthfeel. Very smoooooooth! Look forward to opening a Barrat Reserve Pinot Noir from the same vintage soon.
Premierships and great wine... that is what life is all about

If you havent had it, try it.

saints shiraz 2004

sentura pinot noir 2004 (it was on a dare...honestly)

Wolfblass Presidents Selection cab/sauv 2001
a fantastic blend, smooth, subtle and utterly delicious. I managed to pick it up for $15 which only added to the enjoyment!
