2002 Queen Adelaide Regency Red rocked my rotten socks.
It makes the best salad dressing bare none.

Interesting how many rave about NZ Pinot. I reckon if you pay a little more Bass Phillip is the Ultimate Pinot though the NZ are very good.

Yea, the 97 Greenock Creek Cab is really turning out to be a complete freak. Pretty undistinguished early on, it has/is evolving into something very very special. Almost as if it has some merlot, I had this over Christmas in Switzerland, and it stacked up very well against the 1990 l'Eglise Clinet and 1989 Cos d'Estournel.

I recall Parker was a big fan early on, so I have to give him the credit for such a good pick.

Wish I had picked some up, but only got the Creek Block in 1997, and the Cab is a far better wine.

Did you serve the SCHWARZ to your European friends yet ? How was it received ?

Attila got back yesterday and I believe the answer are "Yes" and "Exceptionally well received". I am certain Attila will provide greater detail.

Sorry, but just a sidetrack from the topic, I really find TN's from "Guests" completely meaningless. It's not that I particularly want to know who you are, it's just that I'd like to know what you said previously, so I know if my palate is calibrated to yours. My moniker is anonymous as that's the way I like it, so register & we can keep track of who's saying what from day to day.

My top 5 wines that I can think of, in no particular order of preference:

Seppelts DP 117 Fino 750ml

Gosset Grand Millesime 1996

Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay 2001

Dujac Charmes Chambertin 1997

Greenock Creek Seven Acre Shiraz 2002 - fantastic aromatics

Havnt seen to many palates that disagree with Moss 95 and I expect WOMS in time will be the same. Great wine is great wine. I can understand your point but think it would be more relative when comparing lesser wines that could be anything.

Nope, I'm a real red bigot, I don't drink white or pink fizz, not even Froggy stuff. At Blacktongues dinners I let others drink the frog fizz predinneries saving myself for the glorious reds to come later!

There are tales of me being seen with a white in hand but that's just scuttlebuck, ask for photographic proof (undoctored Mark G!)

We'll work on those photos at the next offline or two Steve.

My favourite bottle for the year so far would have to be the 1996 St Henri at Magill Estate in February. I think the ridiculously long tasting note reflected that hedonistic experience.

For my favourite new releases I'd have to agree with Steve on the 2003 Kalleske Johann Georg Shiraz as the complete package. The 2002 Seppelt St Peters would be a close second with a truckload of potential.

Kaesler Weapon of Mass Seduction is brilliant wine but hell it needs time guys. Grab some if you can and lock it up for at least five years.
