Hi Adair, isn't this one up around the 13.8% mark?

Sorry, didn't look. We needed a wine to drink with the salmon and this was cold and handy, but was really drunk as a precursor to the reds of the night, so I did not take much attention. However, given the weight of the wine, I would not be surprised.

Re Craiglee 1999: I'd bought every vintage for a number of years when I turned up at the cellar door for the release of the 99. I took a good look at it and thought, nah, this ain't a great one. So I didn't buy any. I came back the next year, bought some 2000. The next: passed on the 2001. The next: bought a stack of the 2002. Craiglee is a small vineyard with a policy to never import fruit; it's all estate grown. There is bound to be a fair degree of vintage variation therefore, especially considering that it's a cool site. Nothing wrong with this, it's just the price you pay for growing grapes outdoors on a small site
