2013 Woody Nook Cabernet Sauvignon Gallagher's Choice
An old favourite, albeit with a prior change in ownership, we suspected a bit of a dip in form. Back on track or was our suspicion unfounded? I daresay it is still the most wonderfully calm and peaceful cellar door.

Hi Ian,
It was a gift from my wife as it is one of our favourite cellar doors in MR. I didn't know about the change of ownership - the 2013 got only ok(ish) reviews from winefront and halliday but picked up some pretty fancy results from the IWC. I'm looking forward to drinking it.

Quite a while back (this from their website)
At the end of 1999 when Jeff and Wynn decided to retire to Busselton and put Woody Nook on the market, Peter and Jane Bailey became the proud new owners in May 2000. Jeff and Wynn's son Neil stayed on as Winemaker/Viticulturist. Jeff passed away peacefully in Busselton in March 2019 at the age of 89.
Although Peter and Jane had lived in WA for almost 20 years, at that time they were resident in the USA. Thanks to modern technology they were able to become deeply involved with the day to day running of the winery and were regular visitors (for extended periods in Jane’s case). In September 2007, after almost 15 years overseas, the Baileys returned to Western Australia permanently.
My concerns were c. the era they were living in the US. I could see how being hands on in recent times could be beneficial
