a small selection from a local wine shop
2x 2014 Fromm La Strada Syrah
1x 2014 Eguren Ugarte Graciano Rioja
1x 2015 Colombabianca syrah frappato
1x 2016 Anselmi San Vicenzo
Eyeing up an internet order, but wary that I'd put one in, then get suckered into buying other wines in the late January sales

My NY resolution is to buy, cellar and drink more red burgundy.
Shared a mixed 2 dozen on a pre-arrival offer (delivery April) of 2016 Domain Marc Roy Gevrey Chambertin VV, Gevrey Chambertin La Justice, Gevrey Chambertin Clos Prieur and Gevrey Chambertin Cuvee Alexandrine with 4 mates who are becoming burgundy focussed.
We have previously bought 2014s and 2015s from this domain and for village wines, they are very good. Alexandrine Roy is clearly a talented winemaker.

Good for you. I wasn't asking you to buy it, or seeking your approval.
Show me the Burgundy or Barolo at $70 AU which sits at the top of its relative quality spectrum and I will join you.
(To be fair, it might even still be over priced, but I think I can find the budget for a mere 3 bottles and support a small independent producer doing interesting stuff)
I don't drink (hardly) any Australian wine here in London but I remain entirely unashamed of an Australian heavy cellar in Adelaide.

+1
If I was still buying Shiraz, Sami-Odi would be an annual purchase. I'm always impressed every time I drink one.

Hi Ian, apropos of your comments (bolded by me) - read how this thread went south in a hurry today! Still plenty of pretty aggressive posters. I like WB but find the aggressive edge unattractive.

6 x 2017 Sorrenberg Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon- Waiting till tomorrow to try this. Be interesting to see how long it lasts before the critics give it a million points and they disappear just like the 2016 did.

Yes. Send Gavin an email regarding the Oleks. There are often wines that don't make it to the website. If you are interested in Italian wines, ask him to add you to his email list.

Part of building up stocks in an underground bunker found at the in-laws place in Sydney. It was constructed as a nuclear bomb shelter in the 50s or 60s (I kid you not) and perfectly suited to wine storage. Father-in-law passed away recently so we will be spending more time there with mother-in-law so wine stocks essential.
