Snap Malcolm! Next time I'll jump in the frame. It's like the DRC stone cross of the Coonawarra although that's more likely the Coonawarra train station. Yes I have photos of that too Craig. Who doesn't?
Speaking of DRC I was at a pop up vinyl sale the other day and all of the records were in wooden DRC boxes. Maybe fake?
There were a pile of empty wooden boxes in the penola pub bottlo that I asked about but they were already 'taken'.

I remember the Penola pub bottle shop, quite large it was too. It is now clear that my memory is nowhere near up to par. Now visiting family in Sydney, I see that some of my wines are in Australian wooden boxes, namely:
- Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz (1999),
- Andrew Harris 'The Vision' (1996),
- Hardy's 'Thomas Hardy' Cabernet Sauvignon (no vintage), and
- Grant Burge 'Meshach' (2000).
All are six-packs and two have lids with screws.

At duty free there were heaps of wooden boxes for single bottles such as Cape Mentelle and Jacob's Creek. Obviously for the mainland Chinese market in what seems an environmentally irresponsible move. The last thing China needs is for its middle class consumers to think wines should come in individual boxes-they're already decimating the forests of Asia.
There was a 500 AUD bottle of Chinese wine on offer too.

Nope, boxes are only an intellectual curiosity, wines on the other hand are more important. I'll take a single bottle of Grange for $200 instead of the six -pack box. Deal?

I recently purchased the Henschke Hill of Grace 2012 and Hill of Roses 2010, both of which came in an individual wooden box.

A friend of mine cuts out holes in the bottom and puts wheels on the 6 pack box's and makes carts for his little girl. They come up well actually.

In a pinch I could. I'm in Sydney lower north shore. Would mean a trip to the offsite in Artarmon and a rummage. I have a flat 6 Te Mata Coleraine and some Penfolds St Henri. Willing to part with, it's just timing and a little bit of hassle. So what I am trying to say is I am sympathetic but maybe not your best first option. If not easy, lemme know as I understand you are trying to be a good mate.

All good, I found a nice wooden crate for $10 - it held the full 12 bottles plus a boxed decanter
