No that means that for the "Growths" they're all REALLY expensive...I didn't say they weren't great wines..just that didn't have great value...They're being chased by a lot of people...

I do not own any FG's or super right-banks (think Petrus, Ausone etc) in either the 09 and 10 vintages. As Polymer says, they are ridiculously expensive. I agree, no matter how good they are the "value" is questionable.
Having said that, I was very lucky to have tasted all the great wines of both the 09 and 10 vintages a few years ago in Shanghai. This includes the lot, Le Pin, Ausone, Petrus, all FG's etc. I even took 1/3 of a bottle of Le Pin 2009 back to the hotel and had it with lunch the next day!!!! Took it to the hotel restaurant, the manager said no BYO, i showed the somm the bottle and he thought i was taking the piss.... gave him 1/2 glass and there was no corkage hehehe
Without question, they are amongst the greatest wines I have ever seen, most defy description. Unfortunately, I will not be alive to see the 2010's peak in another 50 years (that is a serious statement, they will honestly take that long) but both years will provide amazing drinking with a further 10-15 years of bottle age. But I find it hard to even contemplate drinking a $4000 bottle of wine, maybe I have Scottish blood in me some-where!!!

oh, and i second the vote for Hoddles Creek Pinot Noir, fantastic value. Not convinced with the chardonnay, however.

As for hoddles, sorry to disagree, but I think the chardonnays are far better than the pinots. WR to 1er.

McGuigan 9000 Semillon...cheap but ages amazingly well for 10 dollars or whatever it is...I think this is better than the Elizabeth...
Byrne Chardonnay - Maybe on the higher end of thise "value" thread.
Between Five Bells Red and Between Five Bells White - Both are 30 and under if you want something weird and interesting.
BK Wines Skin and Bones Pinot - Aussie on day one..a lot more interesting on day 2...(BK wines actually has quite a few things in the 30s that are good).
Beaujolais - You can still find decent Cru Beaujolais for a decent price...30-40 even...but there's a lot of junk in there too..
Lethbridge Estate Pinot and Chardonnay - Pretty interesting stuff here I think...not different, just not typical new world I don't think..
Fraser Gallop Parterre Cab and Chardonnay - You can sometimes find these cheap
Xanadu Next of Kin Cab - Some really good stuff here some years...and ordinary others..but for 15 or whatever it sells for, hard to complain.
Bowen Cabernet - These age very nicely and they're still really cheap (25?).

Hoddles pinot noir (standard bottlings) - ok as a quaffer but nothing more, imo. Haven't tried 1er yet.

Many of the above are wines I would name, but one in particular is perhaps, after a quick scroll of replies, the most frequently mentioned and a particular vfm favourite of mine, Saltram Metala White Label Langhorne Creek red blend.
