Yep. I reckon it's definitely cellar worthy. You never know... I might bring one out at a future offline.

and, its simply, great wine! Stunning stuff!

Could agree more Gavin. Thank you so much for putting this label on my radar, selling me a bottle and starting my Italian wine journey.

Malcolm, I do not have a single bottle from my birth year...turned the big 50 a couple of weeks back, but have singles and a magnum of the 66 BL.
Some talk from the 50 year tasting at WCE a few years back that from the 60s, 66 was the star of the show and 65 was quite a wet year.
Suspect that chasing down a 65 BL will be an expensive exercise for probably not much more than vinegar.

By my reckoning, the 65 hermitage would have been released just when decimal currency flicked over, it may have realised 25c pb on release...perhaps approaching $100+ now
My first job in the early 80s in a drive through in Adelaide saw 82 Wynns hermitage selling for $1.

The 1990 Michael is a brute, had one a couple weeks ago, needed 24 hours in the decanter, first from the case, inky purply with no fading, cork was fine, but all I got was oak and oak. The next day it opened up a bit more and was quite a good drink.

Cheers
Craig.

Brunello 2010 I'm going long on-

6 x Biondi Santi 2010 Brunello di Montalcino

6 x Stella di Campalto Brunello Riserva- really amazing Brunello and I've met Stella a few times and she is very passionate about wine that in these early days seems to be outperforming most in the medoum term.

12 x La Serena Brunello di Montalcino @ $50 Aussie -ish and 97 Suckling points a steal. :D

6 x Poggione Brunello the bargain of the wine world?

6 x Gaja Pieve di Santa Restituta Brunello.

And sorting out around 6 more producers with best European pricing.

6 x 2010 Barolo, Gramolere, Monforte d'Alba, Fratelli Alessandria

plus a few cases of Dolcetto and Barbera for weekday quaffing.

if the wine has good provenance, and the upper end stuff usually does, you will not be disappointed. This is a ripping wine, take one for a test drive after a two hour decant.... I bet you will end up buying more!!!!! :D :D :D

Ummmm, tempting. Has anyone opened any of the earlier Tally wines yet? I have some of the 04 & 05 tucked away but haven't opened any yet given where their straight 04 Cab Sav is still a fair way off from entering its drinking window.
