6 x 2013 Skillogalee Gewürztraminer

The 2012 was amazing and easily the best Australian gewurz I've ever had, so I'm hoping that the 2013 is also the goods.

You know I like these, but when someone with a decent palate who is a very good QPR buyer is prepared to take some home, I know I'm on the right track. :D

That's all well and good, but what were the prices ?

3 x 2004 Penfolds Grange

6 x 2004 Rockford Basket Press

Saw a few 2004 bottles come up and thought I better grab them since this was both the year I got married and the year I started my own business

The 2004 Basket Press was my pick of the 00's for that wine. Stunning at the moment and will go another 5-15 years with ease. We had a bottle for our anniversary late last year and I was stunned at it's approachability, but also what I perceive as it's ability to age as well.

Good buying there.

Cheers
Ian

Nice to hear, it did sound like a good vintage for both these wines, will hopefully end up cracking one of the BP on our 10th (in two weeks), 15th and 20th wedding anniversaries and maybe, if I can hold out with the others, similar for my business anniversaries.

I agree with Ian - really good wine in the making. For my palate, the 04 Grange is the best since 86, so another good buy if you can afford it.

Michael, you are definitely not cheap. I think of you as discerning. You show excellent judgement when it comes to stocking your cellar.

The only thing to ever be worried about is not having something worth drinking to drink. Which it sounds like is not a problem :D

Candidate for best Buy of all time?

In respect of Gavin and hence not wanting to name other retailers we tend not to run the "cheapest bargain of the year" theme which is a shame as I personally love bargains, but now I dont think we need to as hot dog we have a wiener :!:

After tasting it the other week at the Sydney offline

6 x Gimmonet Fleuron 2002
