Well Tony, looks like I'd better go with the St Henri option. See you there.

2004 Coldstream Hills Reserve Pinot Noir
1982 Lindemans Limestone Ridge
1998 d'Arenberg Dead Arm Shiraz
That should cross a couple off your list Mark.
My vote is for the 98 Dead Arm or 2004 Coldstream Hills.
Cheers Mark

This is what I get for not checking the forum for a week or so! Sadly I've been struck down with a cold, so wouldn't be able to appreciate the wines anyway. Have fun everyone!

Hi all,
Mark, unfortunately I couldn't find the E&E but did stumbled across a '92 Wendouree Shiraz and/or a '96 Stonewell as a suitable replacement. Any preference?
I still have the '99 JR as well (for my +1).
See you all tonight.
Tony

Both sound great, with a marginal preference for the Stonewell.
Cheers

Hi Tony,
yes I will bring the 86 St H. Hopefully it will be in good condition.

OK I've picked up my wines from the cellar and will slow-ox the Mt Ed. Do we need to bring a nice glass? Or does the restaurant have decent stems?

The restaurant has some OK stems, but I would recommend bringing along a few of your own if you want to nurse multiple wines at one time.

Thx Mark, I'll bring a glass for the Prüm and an extra red glass.

This might sound like a silly question, but do we open/breathe the wines or even check them for faults prior to coming?

Yes, unless the wines are very old(i.e. 80s or older) I would double decant (decant, rinse out the botle and pour back into the bottle) the wines prior to coming. At the very least I suggest that you open them, pour out a little and check for faults.

Seven has asked me to seek feedback on the wine he will bring. He is thinking of either a 95 Noble 1 or a suitable red of some kind.
As we will probably not have dessert, I would lean towards a red but I await your views.
Cheers
Mark
