Two issues - who has access to the list presale and how to they know the reserve.

This is not a price issue - it obviously met my reserve , but where was the discussion about my loss to a potentially higher price at auction.

Don't worry about going through auction just ring up a few days earlier


This all sounds a bit suss to me and leaves the system open to abuse. All you need is one staff member willing to alert mates as to what is at auction and what the reserve is and hey presto it has sold on the exchange at the reserve before going to auction. Mate gets cheap wine and everybody is happy, or are they. This behavior, if it is happening, is fraudulent.

If you send wine to auction it should go to auction and not be shifted to the exchange or sold prior to auction without your express agreement. And to blame computer glitches or staff error is just copping out.
