Planning on enjoying which wines and or drinks?

I just bought a carton of Guiness, so this will be the warmer starter for the next couple of nights!

Gavin,

Putting a dinner on tonight for some people, themed "La Tour de France",

Pol Roger 1996
Chateau Potensac 2000 (Medoc)
Chateau La Fleur de Jauge 2000 (St Emilion)
Guigal Cote Rotie Brune et Blonde 1999
Guigal Hermitage 1998
Vieux Telegraph "Le Crau" CNP 2000
Mas de Daumas Gassac 1996

A bit of a romp through the countryside, giving everyone an idea of the different styles and varieties. Should be interesting.

Cheers

Rob,

There is a truckload of Italian stuff out there,I've found the whites to be a little more variable and hard to pin down. As to availability, not sure where you are. However, the A'mano Primitivo red is widely available and usually represents good value at just under $20. I also recently had a Teuzzo Chianti Classico 1998 from Dan Murphy's at $28 which was very good and a nice way to introduce yourself to Chianti. HAvn't found that many good whites but try Soave,Orvieto,Gavi,Moscato,Verdicchio; there are so many white varieties and regions its hard to know where to start. Good Luck.

Cheers

Thanks Grant, most appreciated.
Sorry Gavin I realised after I posted it should have gone in as a
separate post.
Put it down to a long week and Friday vagueness.
