Koonunga Hill
Koonunga Hill
Now I wouldn't normally ask about this, but I'm always looking out for an acceptable midweek quaffer at a good price and I've recently seen 2009 Koonunga Hill (the normal version) on offer at $6.99 a bottle. Is it worth my while picking up half a dozen for Tuesday drinking, or would it be a false economy?

Re: Koonunga Hill
drinks well for the price...i would recommend buying a few.
Re: Koonunga Hill
A lot of posts by people here recently have bene saying how good value it is even to lay down for a few years and then quaff
Can't see it being a bad buy at that price!

Re: Koonunga Hill
Definitely pretty good value...Drinks far better than its price...
My only issue with quaffers like this is not the quaffer itself...but it keeps me from drinking everything else I have....So while I'm saving the better stuff for actual special or semi special occasions, I'm finding that means I'll always outrace that by adding more faster than I can drink them (or maybe I need to have more special occasions).

Agreed, but more than that it holds up for years.

I hear you. I've got half a dozen Yarra Yerings and the same number of Ata Rangi Pinots I can't fit into storage anywhere and are just sat around at home, yet the midweek rack is practically empty...
Thanks for the confirmation, everyone.

That's my embarassed lament to my wife, "I know we've got 500 bottles of wine, but there's nothing to drink."
cheers,

This !!! or I will ask the wife of a weekend what do you feel like tonight. She will say Pinot and I come back up with a bottle of Shiraz she then says why bother you never listen to what I feel like anyhow and I proceed to tell her we don't have anything worthwhile or ready

I had that conversation last night. Thank God my wife is somewhat understanding.
never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

In context though, hey life ain't that tough....
