Tyrrell's 2010 Reds

Post by mf »

Just looking at the 2010 Tyrrell's Reds and working out 12 bottles to get.

Think I have already ruled out the Pinot, Brokenback Shiraz and Stevens (seems I would just be better to buy this normal retail).

Was wondering if any other members are buying anything in particular or, better yet, somebody has tasted the wines and has any recommendations.

Gday MF - most tastings for the new release Tyrrells wines will be undertaken this weekend, or early next week.
Of the wines, the 4 Acres Shiraz is not being produced this year and the fruit is headed into the Brokenback shiraz.

My standing order:
3 Vat 1 Sem
3 Old Patch
2 Vat 9 Shiraz
1 Vat 47 Chardy
1 HVD Chardy
2 Johnno's Shiraz

I got to the Tyrrells tasting a day too late last year and the local 1st choice still had the wines out in cold water (the whites) and the reds half empty with the tops screwed back on. The thing I remember the most was that the Brokenback was a much better red than I thought it should have been.

If the 4 acre shiraz is going into the Brokenback this year - will it even be better?
If you can remember what a wine is like the next day you didn't drink enough of it

For my tastes, the Lunatiq Shiraz was the clear winner from all the reds that Tyrell's had on tasting when I was there a few months ago.
