I hadn't intended to open this for a few more years but noticed it was weeping when I was cleaning out the cellar, so I cracked it open over dinner a few weeks ago.
A glorious, complex nose of rich toffee and licorice. The palate was huge, dominated by a savoury core of licorice and layers of menthol, anise, coffee, spices, tea and toffee. A magnificently long and lingering finish.
An excellent vintage port!
