Hmmm,

Now that the dust has settled somewhat at work, what did I have through the week?

- 1998 Mount Langi Cabernet Merlot- Not so Good
- 2006 Stonier Reserve Pinot Noir- Good
- 2002 Chateau Braniare Ducru- Good

Cheers,

Monghead.

Had a 1997 Mount Mary Chardonnay last night.
Was a coppery colour on opening. Oh dear. A nice bouquet of tangerines in a bowl placed on a french polished dresser in a cottage by the sea. Palate was very developed. Oxidised dare I say? Also finished somewhat bitter. Tried some with a creamy truffled snapper pie (used the recipe from Boatshed) and it was uncanny how the wine metamorphosed into an elegant citrus dominant partner. Pass or OK at best at first turning into Good/Very Good with the right food. Drink up by all means based on this bottle.

cheers

Carl
