Kiwi Crowd: Info on two Kim Crawford SP wines?

We just received a small amount of two of Kim Crawford's small parcels wines here in BC: the 2008 SB Spitfire and the 2007 Rise and Shine Creek Pinot. Has anybody tried these? Any and all info would be gratefully appreciated!

Im not a huge Kim Crawford Fan. They seem very much in the 'boring' wine camp for my palate. Ive tried the SP chardy a couple of times and actually have one at home i was given. its not too bad at all. i see they are going cheap here in nz at them too

Ever since Kim himself left the building, the label seems to have slid.
Occasionally the odd wines can be very good, but that seems to be the exception.

Yes, a retailing friend who knows him told me that. As you know, I myself have little to no knowledge of NZ wine currently

I haven't tried those vintages but the 06 Rise and Shine was a very good pinot, much better than the usual Kim Crawford range, and the 06 and 07 Spitfires are both well made SB in a fairly traditional NZ style.

As a rule of thumb, the only Kim Crawford wines that I find interesting are the Single Parcel (SP) labels, the other wines are pretty generic. If the price is right, I'd be happy buying most of the SP range.

Thanks to all for the input. I always thought that Kim Crawford makes solid wines given the quantity of wine they make. In particular, the 'basic' SB is usually a steady, well made wine. We don't usually get their SP wines here, so I wondered if these SP wines were seen as a big step up from their 'basic' wines.
