Has Harvest Started In Barossa or McLaren Vale?

Post by eno wines »

In a couple of weeks, my wife and I are visiting Adelaide. Does anyone know if harvest has started yet? If so, how is the weather? What varietals are coming off first?

Are there any AUS Harvest Websites? I'd love to watch "virtually" before visiting.

Cheers,
Sasha

McVale is underway.

A couple of white varieties have been harvested over the last two weeks.

Shirz is around 10-11 Baume, but we had rain a couple of nights ago and are expecting more tonight so that may delay things a little.

Sasha, it will be full on by the time you arrive though.

Thanks for the updates!

We are very excited to come down to AUS and be there for the harvest. Michael Twelftree from Two Hands mentioned that things are starting soon. Any other updates or websites tracking the harvest would be great!

I'd love to "follow" harvest virtually from California until we are there March 24-29th.

Cheers,

We received some 16.5 Baume Shiraz from Aldinga Beach (McLaren Vale) last weekend. An interesting vintage from many perspectives this year.
