Old Barrels

Post by GRB »

A neighbour is building a new cellar and are after an old wine barrel to use as a table. What do wineries do with the old barrels once they are no longer usable? Any wine makers out there who may be able to help out?

Thanks

I know in Margaret River and Swan valley, many wineries sell them cellar door for about 100 bucks per barrel.

There a generally ALOT cheaper from wineries. I know at work (mount pleasant) we sell them for under $100 a pop.

Much cheaper than the approx $90-100 for half a barrel from a garden shop.

But the thing is transporting it...

Anyway nice idea.

The going rate for two half barrels with the hoops nailed where I work is a case of Coopers :D
