2001 BROKENWOOD Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz-Hunter Valley.NSW
Besides Turkey Flat there is also Langmeil. The following extract is from their web site:
The Auricht family planted the first vineyard at Langmeil in the mid 1840s and a few acres still remain. These dry grown, hand picked, hand pruned old vines yield less than 2 tonnes per acre, thereby producing fruit with extreme intensity of colour and flavour.
These vines are used to make the Langmeil 'Freedom' Shiraz. The folks at Langmeil are more than confident that these vines date back to the 1840's and they take extraordinary care of them - even trying to transplant several that had to be moved!!!
