Rockford Basket Press and Wendouree

Post by DavidL »

Hi All can any one shed some light on the future of Wendouree and what that will do to back vintage prices? Also anyone tried this years releases yet. In regards to Rockfords and idea when the mailer is coming out?

The future is bright and back vintages wont change in price much based on one vintage being declassified. There are a few comments on the current vintage Malbec and Pressings I think if you search the forum.

As for Rockford, when it normally does (depends if you are a Stonewaller or not) The Stonewaller release should be in a month or so.

On another note, I am starting to work out what wines you are interested in David but do you drink any of them? If so, how about a tasting note or two? :)

cheers

Carl
Bartenders are supposed to have people skills. Or was it people are supposed to have bartending skills?

I'm looking forward to the Rockford Rag arriving in October - the 2005 reds should be great wines if you listen to the word on the grapevine....
Anyone heard anything about other Barossa 05 reds?

Load up on the 05 Barossa reds, especially shiraz. On what I've tasted including barrel samples, the best since 96 IMO

I Second that...Would love a tasting note when you crack some of these harder to get wines. Haven't been able to find anything in searches.

Mike,

Disagree completely!

Having just spent a week there, there are many good wines from 04, 05 and 06. If you ask the winemakers, and I asked many of them, which is the best out of 04, 05 and 06, there is no consistent answer.

Vintage Perspective 2007 and Tour Diary Observations will tell you more.

Yes, this is very classy in almost any company, pretty hard to pick its Barossa origin. It automatically went on the Buy list when we tried it a couple of weeks ago.

Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)

I haven't tried any 06s yet (inc barrel samples) but I can only think of one maker who said 04 was on par with 05 (even though they were selling 04s !) and none said 04 was better. Perhaps we move in different circles !
