Friday's Quiz

Post by Quizmaster »

Irrespective of how the ‘Little Gold Book’ is regarded by many now, to his credit, Robin Bradley was one of the first to publish a user friendly guide to Australian (now incorporating NZ) wine. He probably did as much as any other individual to assist ‘budding’ wine drinkers in gaining some understanding of quality differences, vintage variation, price, etc. The Gold Book was first published in 1979 and has changed little over the years, but one change that took place was the introduction of the Gold Star category. So, today’s quiz is: what were Robyn Bradley’s initial thirteen ‘Gold Star’ wines?

Like this one?

I went straight to your post, clicked the 'Quote' button, and a new response appears like this, with the answer in quotes.

This'd do it!

Correct Answers thus far, five to go

Jim Barry Armagh Shiraz
Lakes Folly Cabernet Sauvignon
Mount Mary Cabernets
Penfolds Grange Hermitage
Petaluma Chardonnay
Wynns John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon

A Clue. Of the five remaining, two are from Victoria, two from SA and one from WA.

Two of the missing five:

Henschke Hill of Grace
One of the Morris Fortifieds, dont get all technical with the name now

And I think the other three are:

One of the Baileys fortifieds
Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay
Penfolds Bin 707

cheers
