Hello All (especially to those with experience with the Wendouree Muscat of Alexandria),
Could someone/anyone please give me an understanding of the aging potential of this wine? I presume it has been made for aging like the rest of the Wendouree range but could somebody with experience (or even with a moderately informed inkling) please confirm or refute this?
Many thanks,
Adair
Wendouree Muscat of Alexandria - Aging Question
Not sure if I can help but as u know this comes bottled with a vintage or two or 3. I recently had two - the 1989/1990 bottling and the 1995/1996 bottling. I found that they had become a little spirity (like an old cognac, esp. for the 89/90 bottling).
Not sure if they are meant to be aged long - give Tony Brady a call at Wendy. I much prefer them young - had the recent bottling from last year - 1998/99? - and quite liked it but at $25 pb it's probably a little expensive when u can get Black Noble for $30 (sensational essence!).

Thanks for your comments. The bottles I have are from the 2001 vintage - no blend. I opened a bottle and found it very spirity and hoped that this will be rectified with age. I will go to the source like you suggest. I am writing a letter to Tony and Lita at the moment.
