Little Rebel 2004 Cab Sav/Merlot
This is a magnificent wine of cab sav 70 % and merlot 30 % from the Yarra Valley VIC. When I purchased the bottle from the local outlet this afternoon for $16.90 what most stood out was the rebelious 'tattoo like' image on the label featuring heart with thorns throughout stating "little rebel" through the centre. Looking at the bottle tasting notes were nowhere to be seen. It simply stated "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do...explore, dream, discover...Mark Twain". How true. Little Rebel wines are made in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Enjoy them with good company. Well, I don't know if I will be doing that at this afternoons taste test but wonderful advise none the less. Colour is a deep purple/ruby red.One the nose I detect raspberry, stewed fruit, jam, fruitcake and spice. On the pallet rasperry and slight plum with wonderful oak intergration. The Oak is slight but well integrated and apparent. I score this a 7.5/10. Very pleasant and mouth-filling and one that I think would soften over some time...not that there is anything wrong with it at the present. Just depends on what you are after but I have heard much 'hype' of this wine and decided to try a bottle for myself. Well worth it I believe. Open now and enjoy! Feedback with other's tasting/opionions on this wine would be appreciated.

Of the others you mentioned cheaper, what are some of your suggestions?

Oomoo is a nice drop agreed.
Thanks for those. Any others people have I'm interested to hear about. Certainly there are some wonderful and sometimes 'interesting' wines available for under $20. I would have to look through some notes of mine to post by name. Can't think of any off the top of my head right now. Being in plaster and having an itch you can't scratch is most distracting!!

Thanks for all the contributions. More are welcome...naturally. Will add all of these to a word doc and have a look next trip down to the local DM's.
