Barossa help

Just seeking a little feedback, considering going to the Barossa overnight over easter.

I've not stayed there for a little while, and feedback on good B&B accommodation would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone with good experiences to share?

Have a look on winery websites as several have B&Bs as well, eg Rolf Binder and Heritage

We last stayed at Basedow Cottages in Tanunda. Not B&B and a bit grotty but cheap and close to the centre of town and cheap. Breakfast readiliy available at Die Wursthaus in Tanunda.

A while ago now Gav, but our last stay was ay Lawley Farm, just beside Rockford. A bit dearer than some, but great location, nice historic buildings and some f the rooms have spas in them. :-)

An absolute must is the honeymoon suite at the local pub. The Pie King swears by it! :shock:

Gavin,

Stayed at the Hermitage of Marananga a few years back. Not cheap, but good. If you like eggs and you eat a good breakfast it is a must. They do dinner too. Corner of Seppeltsfield and Stonewell Rds. from memory.

At the end of '04 our group stayed at Clara's Cottage and Elsie's Cottage in Tanunda. If they are not suitable check out others on the site.

I second the vote for Lawley Farm. Lesley and Jack Gregg are hosts par excellence, the breakfasts are fabulous and the place is tranquility itself with Rockford right next door! They have a website - just Google "Lawley Farm".

Heritage cottage

Steve Hoff of Heritage wines has refurbished a stone cottage which has a living room and bedroom with panaromic views of his vineyards right on your doorstep. Highly recommended for a slightly off the beaten track stay. Can't complain about the complimentary muscat to while the night away as well.

Fig Tree Cottage

Try Fig Tree Cottage in Angaston (www.intercontact.com.au), although it might be a bit close to Easter to book it.

I haven't stayed there, but I've heard great stuff about it, and its right in town.
