Wine tasting courses

Post by Telsor »

I'm currently looking at doing a wine tasting course, but really don't know enough to distinguish one from another, so I was wondering if any of you might have some tips about what to look for, or perhaps even some know some good course in Melbourne.

Telsor,

Although it is perhaps a little late for this year, you might try Northern Melbourne Institute of Tafe, Epping campus, I think.

They have a wine tasting course, a beginners wine making course which is quite good, and I believe they will soon be adding a batchelors Ddgree wine course next year.

Check out the WineDiva site - you might find something of interest there.

FWIW my thoughts on the subject have been reproduced here.

I did the one at The Wine Society in Bourke St and thought it was pretty good. I'm not sure whether they have any more coming up this year though.

Thanks for all the advice.

I've decided to go to the course offered by Armidale Cellars, mostly for practical reasons ( time and location ).

If anyones interested, I could write up my impressions afterwards.
