Penfolds Kalimna Block 42 Cab Sauv 1996

Post by GrahamB »

Hi all

A couple of days ago we were offered a bottle of the Penfolds Kalimna Block 42 Cab Sauv. This has been kept in the safe of a Liqour store in an airconditioned office but is available. Is anyone interested and what would be a good price? What would be a fair price. I am not going to take it as it will be above my drinking price and I am not into wine for investment.

Graham,

What is the fair price? Why don't you order it on this parent website at $235 (Auswine). Most retail outlet charges an arm and a leg ($350 - I don't want to name one of such outlet).

Cheers,
Steve

very big of you steve, might be the outlet that is consistently 20% under the remainder of the range.

Langtons Price Realisation is $220-260 add an appropriate retail margin and tax and you're got the current fair retail price; probably around $300 or so. Not bad considering it was going for almost $200 on release back in 1999.
