Bullers Sails Durif 2003
Bullers Sails Durif 2003
Anyone know something about this wine? I have read that the Calliope is a class wine and I am assuming that this is it's lower end sibling.
Cheers,

Craig,
I'd be careful buying other Bullers reds on the (deserved) reputation of the Calliopes.
The Sails reds usually don't see oak and are meant for early consumption or very short term cellaring, if that's what you are after, fine, but they are a world away from the 2002 Calliope Shiraz or Durif.

Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)

Craig,
The Sails Range is a multi regional blend. Fruit is sourced from Rutherglen, Swan Hill and King Valley. After yeard of faithful service the range is being retired and there is fair bit available throughout the trade at clearance prices. The Durif is not in the same league as the Calliope but at its current clearance price (should be sub $10) is pretty smart value (the 03 imparticularly). The 03 Durif should age well in the short to medium term, say 3-5 years.
