Hi folks, well the mood is still ecstatic here at the Normans as it's likely to be all summer.

Crows waited seven years, Power waited eight years, some old time South Melbourne supporters have waited a lifetime, for me it's only half a lifetime but worth the wait. We've now passed the baton to Bulldogs (1954), Melbourne (59?), Geelong (63) and St.Kilda (66). good luck to those long suffering supporters.

What a fantastic game, in the balance until the last seconds, I wore out the carpet wandering around in front of the TV in that last tense 10-15 minutes.

How have I celebrated? Moderately of course, so I could enjoy the replay and snippets of all the after match functions on FOX.

GW, the 98 Rothbury Brockenback Shiraz is ok but looks to be fading. Cracked a bottle of 98 Oscar Semmler last night to watch the replay with, very nice wine, start of a good line.

This week at Blacktongues I'll bring out something bubbly for the crew and it will be alot less c-through than Champagne!

PS:Demons last flag was in '64.

Congratulations Steve. At least unlike the Eagles the Crows didn't come away empty handed - we got the McClelland trophy, the one no one gives a toss about. :lol:

Buldogs,Geelong and Saints will be near abouts in the next couple of years. I feel sorry for Melbourne with its ageing list.

As a mad Geelong supporter I declared that when Davis kicked that goal to beat the Cats with 3 bloody seconds remaining that the Swans would go on to win the flag. I was shattered but have just got over the loss and am very happy for the Swannies as they very much deserved it. They have proved that self belief is paramount. Well done and may the many Cats fans out there hopefully experience a premiership win in the near future, by god please whilst the great B Davis is still around to revell in it.

I share your sentiments and cracked a 2001 WB Platinum label and 86 Mt Edelstone to celebrate. Wearing a Swans jersey and cap at 5am Saturday morning (and lets face it, the rest of the day) in Manhattan drew some strange looks !

As life-long Wests fan in (rugby league), it must go down as one of the greatest weekends of my life. Hopefully next Sunday we'll win the first GF since 1952 to make it a sensational double. 96 Dom Perignon is already in the fridge in anticipation.

Ok, I have to admit it ..... it was a very good, even one of the great Grand Finals I can remember. Except for the 1989 Geelong v Hawthorn GF, it was probably the only other GF in recent memory where it induced the "pacing across the room" syndrome in the final quarter. And from Steve's comment above it looks like I wasn't the only one out of my chair (and I don't even support the Swan's! :shock:

).

The other winner here, and probably even a bigger winner than the Sydney Football Club, is Aussie Rules in NSW. Being the stronghold of Rugby League, the Swans winning the premiership can only do good for the code in Sydney and NSW. Just look at what the Lions have done for Aussie Rules in Brisbane and Queensland.

Now if only a certain Melbourne team could get up off the bottom of the ladder and win next year I might be able to open something nice. :roll:

As a Tasmanian living in Sydney I have to endure Rugby League - a so-called "greatest game of all" that is only played in NSW and Qld, plus a few small towns in NZ and a village or two in the UK.

As far as I can tell it consists of little more than fat blokes throwing a ball backwards, and giving the ball to the opponents when they run out of fingers to count on.

The only true national football code is AFL, and the gods be praised for bringing victory to the Swans. Let the death of League begin... please.

(To be fair - Union is quite watchable - and at least it is a true international sport).

Unrelated... have been reading TORB's site - I was down in Bowral all weekend and I wish I'd shared a beverage with the astute gentleman.

(Gentleman - a person who has the same unjustified bigotries that you do).
