Wine sale help please - '99 Rockford BP - Buy/Pass?

Post by Rock »

I realize '99 wasn't the greatest vintage, but the '99 BP Shiraz is on sale here in the US for $14.99. I have liked other BP's I've tried even though most could have used more cellar time. Thanks in advance for any help.

You must be kidding? $14.99? Buy as much as you can at that price.

Buy it all! It may be as good as the 98 in time and better than the 2000.

Price is a bargain!
Cheers

Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)

Thanks for the quick responses. I felt like it was a "no brainer" at that price. The store opens here in a couple of hours and I will order a case.

Can't believe you can buy Rockford in the States for that price - where???
1999 wasn't seen by many as a great vintage - but I've never had a bad Basket Press yet - in the years that the majority see as bad, Rockford seem to pull out winners! if you can get it for $14.99 - buy and enjoy!!!

At least! That price must be about $22-23Australian, close to half what we can buy it for here( and I'm talking mailing list customer price!). If you can't fit the stores entire supply in the car, get yourself to U-Haul!

You've tried other vintages before but at what price/s; so have you been to the store and are convinced it's a REAL DEAL? Buy a random bottle, open it there at the store, try it. Convinced?

Skeptically

I got the email, and it is for 375 ml bottles. Still a good price, but not insane.

Buy it even if Pint size. 99 good BP.

Be interesting to see how it's going, the Pint format maybe drinking well. Pull the cork on one and add notes for the forum !

I just paid $145 for the 99 magnum.

Unfortunately the e-mail offering I received neglected to mention they were halves. Only when I called did they inform me a the oversight in their first offer. Sorry to stir things up --- guess I should have known that it was a bit too good to be true.
