Thompson Family Shiraz 2001

Just a quick request: has anyone had any experience with the above wine, or past vintages? I'd be grateful for any TNs or comments.

I have recently received a brochure advertising their latest vintages, and the above wine is priced at $79.00.

Best,

PJ.

I haven't tasted this wine but I do believe it is now the top of the range shiraz for this winery.

I think there used to be a reserve shiraz and this is now it. It used to sell for a lot in the US and was hard to get. The price you quote is a lot cheaper than the secondary market price. Sounds like a fair deal.
Cheers,
Kris

Thompson Family Shiraz

I'm assuming it's the Bests Thompson Family Shiraz, and go on to say it is only produced in the better years (no '99) and is ageworthy and excellent.
It is infantiside to drink one under ten years of age and represents the best the Great Western area can do.
If you like the Bin "0" or Seppelt st Peters, you'd love it.
The price is about right as well.
Hope this helps,
Rory
