De Bortoli Windy Peak Sangiovese 2004

Post by andyc »

First post so here goes:
Keep coming back to this wine as an interesting cheapy at $10-12 pb and good value for a 100% sourced King Valley wine. The nose is full on dark cherry with a hint of earth and not much (new) oak to speak of. The palete follows with the cherry and even a hint of chocolate. It aint Chianti and neither should it be, just another take on this grape in the fuller fruited Aussie style.

I had the 2003 of this last year and I was impressed with that as well.
