Lavender! Wattle they think of next

Post by darby »

Cape Lavender in the Margaret River have wines flavoureed with lavender. James Halliday gives their 2003 Lavender Shiraz 90 points, so maybe it is worth a try, despite my preference for wines that taste like they are made from grapes.

No it is not. I went to the cellar door as a break from the wineries for my wife when in MR about 2 years ago. Their wines are not bad but seriously, don't waste the money. In fact, I bought one of their whites back to Sydney, what I thought was their best white, and served it at an offline. It was not received very well. I am sure GaryW remembers it. I think I had to open a 1982 John Riddoch to make up for my actions.

Just a gimmick to try and move wine to mug punters.

1982 JR is a huge price to pay for a momentary lapse of reason!
