1982 Château Cos d’Estournel
Medium red with some obvious bricking, Powerful and evocative bouquet redolent of strong basil, deep blackfruits, vanilla, chocolate pudding. Very primary but also very complex. Lovely. Again, quite powerful and concentrated with some aggressive (albeit fine) tannins that seem to be finally assimilating on the palate. Excellent length. This wine has hints of a “wild side” with a rustic nature and “old style” winemaking and earthy tones. This is an excellent wine that seems to be finally entering its drinking window (to my palate), promising what the anthemic trance dance classic by Motorcycle looped: “Embrace me, surround me, as the rush comes”. Top wine.
93/100
