TN: 1982 Château L’Arrosée

Post by Baby Chickpea »

1982 Château L’Arrosée (St.-Emilion)
Mid red with some bricking. Deep purple centre. Excellent colour. Nose of deep black fruits, smoky oak and rich earth. Top stuff. Palate is powerful (surprisingly for L’Arrosée) yet silky with outstanding length, with myriad ripe complex cherries and pomegranates, cedar, quality oak and tight tannins. After 3 hours, almost closed up completely (lucky only half a glass left!). Hard to decipher. Very much a Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde wine but excellent overall.
92/100

Stop it Danny, your selection is starting to look very much like my 82/83/86 Bordeaux collection that went to auctiuon due to divorce.

Surely you didn't buy them?

... and what great drinking those 82/83/86's are now! More to come tomorrow ... wish I did buy them - when great vintage Bordeaux was affordable!
